$25,000 Endowed Entrepreneurship Program Fund Established at NCCU
Dr. Lee Barnes, president of Family Fare, Jeff Mercer, Business Consultant for Family Fare and Jay Harris, owner of Harris Beverages recently presented the gift to Johnson O. Akinleye, Ph.D., chancellor of NCCU and the NCCU School of Business and Division of Institutional Advancement teams. The gift establishes the Family Fare Endowed Entrepreneurship Program Fund and will be matched with a Title III federal grant for a total impact of $50,000.

Habitat for Humanity Restore
These ladies spent time on Saturday, May 18th in the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Durham on a Saturday morning preparing light fixtures to be sold in support of Habitat’s mission to create funding for building homes.
There was an entire pallet of light fixtures that were opened box by box and prepared for the sales floor. There was dusting and proper placement of the items so that customers could come in and get a great deal all while supporting Habitat for Humanity!

2019 Habitat for Humanity Appreciation Breakfast
Family Fare representatives attended the 2019 Habitat for Humanity appreciation breakfast on April 30, 2019 and presented a check for $2,500.00 their organization, which serves Durham and Orange counties.
This organization helps to build affordable homes for people in our community and is a vital asset in enriching lives through its program. Their Habitat Restore in Durham , N.C. offers used home furnishings for sale, another way they extend service to the community. Several of the administration staff from the Family Fare Service Collaboration and Support Center will volunteer at the Restore in May to further extend Family Fare’s giving to this great organization!

Pints for Paws
Family Fare was one of many sponsors of the Pints for Paws event held on Sunday, April 14th. The event was a fundraiser for The Animal Protection Society of Durham. The Animal Protection Society of Durham is a non-profit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. Volunteers from the Family Fare Service, Collaboration and Support Center helped with set-up and prepared vendor stations for the event. Donation to D.C. Virgo Academy
Family Fare makes $5,000 donation to University North Carolina at Wilmington Watson School of Education to support D.C. Virgo Academy. July 23rd, 2018.
